1 February 2024
Skanska has signed a contract with Lindesnes municipality in the south of Norway to build a health and care center. The contract is worth NOK 822M, about SEK 820M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the first quarter of 2024.
The care center will be approximately 8,000 square meters and contain 72 care homes and 48 short-term care units. The health building will be approximately 12,500 square meters and will contain, among other things, an emergency room, an ambulance station, a day activity center, a healthy lifestyle center, a volunteer center, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and mental health services, as well as a café and premises for voluntary groups and organizations.
The project has high climate ambitions, and the buildings are to be constructed with extensive use of wood, zero greenhouse gas emissions and produce more energy than it uses in operation. In addition, reuse of materials from existing buildings is planned.
Construction is scheduled to start in February 2024 and the project is expected to be completed in December 2027.
