Skanska has signed a contract with the Municipality of Bergen to build Midtbygda care home in Bergen, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 548M, about SEK 550M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the third quarter 2023.
The new care home will be approximately 14,000 square meters and contain 100 short-term accommodation units, day activity center, rehabilitation and training facilities, cafeteria and an underground parking garage. That also includes plans for extensive reuse of materials from an existing building that will be demolished as part of the project. The ambition is to certify the building according to BREEAM NOR, level Excellent.
Construction is expected to start in October 2023 with completion in October 2026.
