EBID to fund the construction of 11 metal bridges in Côte d’Ivoire

is set to release US$ 25m as a subsidy for the construction of 11 metal bridges in Côte d’Ivoire.
EBID is the financial arm of the which comprises of fifteen Member States namely, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
EBID aims to contribute to attaining the objectives of the Community by supporting infrastructure projects relating to regional integration or any other development projects in the public and private sectors, and to assist in the development of the Community by funding special programs.
About the 11 metal bridges
The bridges in question will be put up in the towns of Agboville, Daloa, Danané, Issia, Kaniasso, Kong, Korhogo, Minignan, San-Pédro and Vavoua.
They are a part of the 33 bridges and interchanges that the government of the West African country announced that will be constructed across the country in the course of this year.
These infrastructure projects are meant to allow populations living in cultivation areas to have easier access to administrative structures as well as to healthcare and education infrastructures established in the various localities.
According to a press release from the country’s Council of Ministers, the aim will be to improve their access “to basic socio-economic infrastructure and increase their income through the increase in their agricultural production and the facilitation of the evacuation of products to marketing or export centers”.
