Senegal partners with China on two solar projects
1 September 2025
Senegal has signed two agreements with Chinese state-owned company the China National Technical Import and Export Corporation (CNTIC) to develop solar energy and digital infrastructure projects.
The projects include two 50 MWp solar PV power plants, each paired with a 30 MW/90 MWh battery storage system.
Funded by CNTIC, the facilities will help advance rural electrification and energy independence.
The projects will impact consumers in nearly 2,000 villages and enhance bilateral cooperation between Senegal and China.
