Cimic to upgrade eastern Australia’s internet infrastructure

Cimic subsidiary UGL has won a A$120m, three and a half year contract by Australian state broadband agency NBN Co to upgrade the internet infrastructure in the eastern states of Queensland and New South Wales.
UGL will upgrade the fibre network, providing design, access, construction and installation services.

Work on the project is due to begin in June 2025. The contract has the option to be expanded by an additional two years.
