Hong Kong-listed Lee & Man Chemical Company Ltd. is advancing construction of its first overseas manufacturing facility in Vietnam, with trial production targeted by the end of 2027.

In its interim report for the six months ended June 30, the company said preparations and construction for the Vietnam project is progressing in an orderly manner.

The facility is part of a three-pronged capital expenditure program aimed at expanding the group's production capacity over the next 18 months. It will be Lee & Man Chemical's first production facility outside mainland China.

The plant is located in the Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park in Tan Phuoc ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to foreign investment data released by HCMC's investment and trade promotion authorities, the Phu My 3 chemical manufacturing project has total registered investment of about $203.6 million. It was among the major foreign-invested projects granted an investment registration certificate in late 2025.

On December 25, 2025, Lee & Man Chemical Vietnam Co. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lee & Man Chemical, signed a lease agreement for two land plots covering about 28.5 hectares, along with more than 21,600 square meters of adjoining water surface.

The lease runs until December 21, 2077. Lee & Man is required to pay more than VND1.54 trillion ($59.4 million), excluding VAT, in infrastructure fees to Thanh Binh Phu My JSC, the developer and operator of Phu My 3.

Lee & Man Chemical Vietnam was established on December 11, 2025, with its registered headquarters at Lot N1 on D3 Road in Phu My 3. Its primary business covers the manufacturing of caustic soda (NaOH), chlorinated methane derivatives, hydrogen peroxide, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hypochlorite.

In its filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Lee & Man said it expects demand in Vietnam to continue growing, creating a need for additional domestic production capacity. More importantly, most of the output from the new plant is expected to be sold in Vietnam.
