Siemens Energy Expands Manufacturing Facilities in Saudi Arabia

Minister of Energy, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, inaugurated the expansion of Siemens Energy Co.’s plant in Dammam 2nd Industrial City, eastern province of Saudi Arabia.
The expansion increased the total area of the plant by 35% to 20,000 square meters.
The expansion aims to localize various industries within the energy sector. These industries include gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and HL-Class gas turbines.
9000HL-Class gas turbines will be used in Taiba-2 and Qassim-2 CCGT projects. This type of turbine considered as the first of its kind to be assembled outside the Siemens Energy factories in Berlin, Germany.
Earlier June 2024, Siemens Energy awarded $1.5 billion Power Plant Supply Contract related to Taiba-2 and Qassim-2 CCGT projects.
