CEEC Completes Northern Collector Tunnel Phase 1 Project in Kenya, Ensuring Water Supply for Nairobi Region
14 March 2024Built by CEEC, the Northern Collector Tunnel Phase 1 Project has been handed over in Kenya. Situated about 70 km north of Nairobi, capital of Kenya, the project involves constructing an 11.7 km water tunnel with a 3 m internal diameter. This tunnel diverts water from three rivers to the local Thika Dam, ensuring vital water supply for Nairobi and its neighboring towns.
The project has trained 800+ local technicians and managers, creating 2,000+ job opportunities. It will meet 13.7% of Nairobi metropolitan area's water demand, benefiting 1.28 million residents.
