Skanska to build data centre and healthcare facility in Norway

Swedish contractor Skanska has won two building projects worth a total of $185m in southern Norway, one for a data centre, the other for a health and care facility.
The $106m date centre will be built in Skien municipality for WS Computing. The project’s scope includes laying foundations and building access roads.
Construction work on this scheme has already begun and is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The company also won a $79m job from Norway’s Lindesnes municipality to build a health and care centre.
A 12,000 sq m health building will house an emergency room, an ambulance station, and accommodation for volunteers, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and mental health services.
The 8,000 sq m care facility will contain 72 care homes and 48 short-term care units.
Construction is scheduled to start this month and the be completed in December 2027.
