Belgian contractor Besix and Bouygues subsidiary Equans have won a design-and-build contract for a data centre in Neder-Over-Heembeek on behalf of Dutch developer KevlinX.

The turnkey project will have a total power capacity of 40MVA. Besix will take on the civil, structural and architectural elements and Equans will handle the MEP package.

The project is designed to meet “tier III” standards, with back-up generators and multiple distribution paths in place to facilitate maintenance without disrupting operations.

Construction on the project will begin this year.
