9 November 2023Last Tuesday, on October 31st, we laid the foundation stone for the Serra da Palmeira Wind Complex. The ceremony, which brought together the Company's leadership, professionals, partners and workers from the contractors, marked the beginning of the construction work of the Complex.
“The Serra da Palmeira Wind Complex is CTG Brasil’s first large-scale wind energy project. Together with the contractors, community and other partners, we will work together to guarantee the safety, quality and progress of construction effectively, seeking to build the project into a high-quality model in the wind energy area of the Brazilian market, thus contributing to the local social-economic development, the advancement of clean energy in Brazil and the strengthening of economic ties between our two countries”, explained Gao Peng, Vice President of CTG International.
The journey to the start of works began in 2021, and since then, there have been two years of hard work, with field research, social and economic diagnoses, relationships with communities, public hearings, and etc..
“It is a source of great pride for us to begin the construction work in the month in which CTG Brasil completed 10 years. I want to thank the professionals from the most diverse teams who worked tirelessly to get us to this point and who will continue with us on this journey”, says Lucas Sanchez, director of the Serra da Palmeira Wind Complex project. The Serra da Palmeira Wind Complex will extend across five municipalities in Paraíba and, when it comes into operation, it will have an installed capacity of 648 MW.
