Ferrovial subsidiary wins $200m water contract in fast-growing Pflugerville
1 July 2023
Ferrovial subsidiary PLW Waterworks has won a $200m contract to build a new wastewater treatment plant in Pflugerville, Texas, a fast-growing suburb of Austin.
The plant will treat up to six million gallons a day to accommodate Pflugerville’s population, which grew nearly 40% between 2010 and 2022, according to the US Census Bureau.
Starting this summer, PLW will build operation and maintenance buildings and install equipment for the Wilbarger Creek plant. The project is due to finish in 2026.
“We are grateful to provide infrastructure solutions to one of the state’s fastest-growing regions,” said Jose Carlos Esteban, CEO of Webber, a subsidiary of Ferrovial.
PLW, a joint venture between Ferrovial subsidiaries Webber and Cadagua, has won a number of water contracts in Texas recently (see further reading).
