China’s theme park operator Haichang Ocean Park and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment have announced the planned development of the first large-scale ocean park in the Kingdom.
Haichang's plan to leverage its expertise and experience to develop various forms of location-based entertainment venues among cities in the Kingdom, from family entertainment centres, water parks, IP-themed parks, zoo and safari parks, the company said in a statement.
Haichang is working closely with local partners and stakeholders, including the Ministry of Investment and General Entertainment Authority, to identify the right sites for its intended huge projects.
The Chinese firm owns and operates six parks in Dalian, Yantai, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Sanya.
The Shanghai park is under its phase two expansion and a new ocean park will soon be open in Zhengzhou this year.
In addition, Haichang is expanding its scale by developing a network of Haichang Aquarium and Discovery Centre in China, which will have 50 venues by year-end.
