POWER CHINA awarded 500MW Wind Power Project from UAE’s AMEA Power

POWER CHINA International, HDEC and AMEA Power (UAE) signed the EPC contract of 500MW wind power project in Amonet, Egypt.

Hussain Al Nowais, the chairman of AMEA Power, Ji Xiaoyong, the president of POWER CHINA International, Tang Yuhua, the Deputy General Manager of POWER CHINA International and General Manager of Middle East and North Africa Region, and the president of HDEC International, Yu Feng, presented the signing ceremony.

The new signed project is located approximately 300km southeast of Cairo, Egypt, and is 8km far away from Ras Ghareb.

HDEC started to follow this project and has modified its plan for several times to improve it. Finally, in June 2022, HDEC received bid-winning notice and start the contract negotiation. Now, the contract has signed successfully.

The contractors of this contract include Egypt branch of POWER CHINA International, HDEC and HDEC MIDDLE EAST CO DMCC.

The scope of works is the design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the 500MW wind farm and booster station, with a contract period of 30 months.

Construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2023. The project is the largest wind power project in the MENA region, and is also a breakthrough in the layout of our new country market in Egypt.
