Hyundai HEISCO JV awarded $160.2m Project in Kuwait

HEAVY ENGINEERING INDUSTRIES & SHIPBUILDING CO (HEISCO) announced in a statement that it has awarded a Contract, as part of a consortium for a Project issued by Kuwait Port Authority.
The value the contract is KWD 48.747 million (USD 160.2 million).
HEISCO mentioned that consortium includes its subsidiary (Gulf Dredging & General Contracting Co. K.S.C) and Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd.
The company stated that that the consortium received the awarding letter from the Kuwait Port Authority. The Project is related to implementation of rehabilitation works from (1) to (7) Berth in the Shuwaikh port of the Kuwait Ports Authority.
Earlier, during March 2022, the consortium announces that it has submitted lowest bid for the project. (read more)
Under this contract Berth 1 to 7 will be rehabilitated and provide approximately 1,330 m berth length for general cargo (Berth 2 to 7) and bulk cargo (Berth 1). The proposed new berths require special berthing and mooring facilities to accommodate general cargo, container vessels and bulk carriers. The berths will be equipped with mobile cranes with a capacity of approximately 600 tons, reach stackers, and heavy trucks for handling and storage of incoming products from or to berthing vessels.
