19 March 2021
National High Speed Rail Corp Ltd and Japan Railway Track Consultants Co have signed a memorandum of understanding covering track design for the 237 km Vadodara – Vapi package T2 section of the planned Mumbai – Ahmedabad high speed rail corridor.
JRTC is to provide the detailed designs and drawings for the principal components of the slab track.
‘This MoU will strengthen the ties between India and Japan and will also give a boost to the Make in India initiative’, said Shinzo Miyamoto, minister at the Japanese embassy, following the signing on March 12. ‘This will also ensure the transfer of technology from the Japanese high speed rail system to India.’
