STRABAG awarded contract to renovate metro station in Prague
18 July 2025
STRABAG a.s., the Czech subsidiary of STRABAG SE, as the leading partner of a consortium, has been awarded a contract to modernise Prague’s Flora metro station. The project, worth approximately € 52 million, includes the complete revitalisation of both public and non-public areas of the station, with a focus on sustainability and accessibility.
The scope of the modernisation includes replacing the existing escalators, which span an elevation of 24.6 metres, with energy-efficient models. The project also includes the implementation of barrier-free access. The new accessibility route will connect the platform to the interchange corridor and lead to a minimalist above-ground lift kiosk at street level.
Located approximately 25 metres below Olšany Cemetery, Flora station presents a technically challenging project in the city centre. The modernisation will be carried out by a consortium led by STRABAG a.s., which holds a 67% share, alongside OHLA ŽS, a.s., with a 33% share.
