Hochtief and Turner team up to build German data centre
30 July 2026
A team featuring Germany’s Hoctief and Dornan Group, an Irish engineering subsidiary of Turner Construction, has won a contract to build a 36MW data centre in Berlin for NTT Global Data Centers.
The three-storey data centre will be joined by a four-level office building. The scope of the contract includes electrical and mechanical engineering work, plus the implementation of advanced safety and management systems.
Juan Santamaría, Hochtief’s chief executive, said: “This project reflects our continued focus on digital infrastructure and strengthens Hochtief’s leading position in this market. Germany is experiencing strong, sustained demand for data centre capacity.”
Peter Hingott, Hochtief’s infrastructure chief executive, said: “This is an important project for us in Germany. We developed it locally and will deliver it with an integrated team, drawing on Hochtief’s Infrastructure’s experience in complex construction and our strong understanding of the market.”
Construction is scheduled to begin imminently, with the first data halls set to be handed over in 2028 and full completion scheduled for 2029.
