Koncar signs 15.3 mln euro deal with Acciona's Croatian arm
17 July 2025
Croatian electrical concern Koncar said on Thursday it has signed a 15.3 million euro contract ($17.7 million) with local energy producer Solarna Elektrana, a subsidiary of Spain's Acciona Energía, for the construction of the 400 kV Promina substation in southern Croatia.
The deal provides for a turnkey delivery of the substation, Koncar said in a press release.
The Promina 400 kV substation will be integrated into the national grid through a 400 kV overhead transmission lines connecting it to the Konjsko and Velebit substations. It will serve as a keynode for transmitting electricity from the Promina solar power plant and is expected to deliver sufficient energy to power around 69,000 households.
Once completed, the Promina solar power plant will have an installed capacity of 150 MW, making it the largest facility of its kind in Croatia and the broader region.
