25 May 2025Sweden’s Skanska has signed a $167m contract with Czechia’s National Highway Authority to build a road to bypass Prague’s eastern districts.
The I/12 Běchovice-Úvaly bypass aims to divert transit traffic away from populated areas, while reducing congestion and environmental impact.
It involves building a 12.6km-long, four-lane road, 23 bridges and six multi-level crossings.
Work is due to begin in July and be completed by the end of 2027.
