Successful Bid! Hydro-Floating Solar Hybrid Project Srinagarind Dam Unit 1 in Thailand

On February 21, local time,China Energy Engineering Group Shanxi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd.(SEPEC) successfully won the bid for the Hydro-Floating Solar Hybrid Project Srinagarind Dam Unit 1, a 180 MW floating photovoltaic EPC project in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand.
The project is located at the Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi Province, western Thailand, approximately 200 kilometers from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. With a total installed capacity of 180 MW, it will cover a water area of about 300 hectares. In addition to the photovoltaic field, the project includes the construction of a new 33 kV switch station. It is expected to commence construction in mid-2025.
The construction of the project is anticipated to create over 500 local jobs and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 180,000 tons annually. It will support Thailand's development goals of increasing the proportion of renewable energy.
