SWPC Signs $2.26 billion Jubail-Buraydah IWTP Project

Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) announces the signing of agreements of Jubail-Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) project with the consortium comprising Aljomaih energy & water company and Nesma Company Ltd. and Buhur for Investment Company.

The agreement was signed Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Al-Qassim province, His Excellency Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Water Partnership Company, signed at the Emirate of Al-Qassim province.

This project is a significant boost to the water infrastructure in the Al-Qassim and the Eastern provinces that will cater to the drinking water needs in both regions.

The pipeline will have a transmission capacity of 650,000 m3/day and a length of 587 km, at a total project cost of 8.5 billion riyals. The project will have the ability of reverse flow from Al-Shamasiyah, passing through Al-Qulayib, to Al-Jubail with the full project capacity, in line with the plans of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture for the drinking water regional connection throughout the Kingdom, ensuring high levels of continuous and sustainable supply of drinking water in both regions.

The project also includes 6 strategic storage tanks at Al-Shamasiyah and 3 strategic storage tanks at Al-Jubail with a total storage capacity of (1,634,500) cubic meters, ensuring a reliable and efficient water supply in the two regions.
