Serbia's construction works value up 6% in 2024

The value of construction works in Serbia rose by 6.0% at constant prices in 2024 after increasing by a real 11.2% in the previous year, the statistical office said.
The value of civil engineering works performed in the country was up 4.9% last year, while the value of works on buildings rose 8.6%, both measured at constant prices, the office said in a statement last week.
At the same time, the combined value of works carried out by Serbian companies at home and abroad increased by a real 6.0% as well last year after climbing up 10.1% in 2023. Out of the total, the value of civil engineering works at home and abroad rose 5.5% in 2024, while the value of works on buildings went up 7.1%, the statement read.
In the fourth quarter alone, the value of construction works in Serbia was down by an annual 1.9% in real terms but rose by 10.6% compared to the third quarter. The combined value of works in Serbia and abroad fell by an annual 1.4% and rose by a quarterly 11.3% at constant prices in October-December.
