Montenegro: Alcazar Energy Partners signs MoU with EPCG for largest wind farm
1 February 2025
Alcazar Energy Partners has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Montenegro’s state-owned power utility, EPCG, to negotiate a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Bijela wind farm.
The Bijela wind farm, with a planned installed capacity of 118.8 MW, will become Montenegro’s largest wind facility, providing electricity to over 16,000 households. Alcazar Energy Partners secured the rights to the project in 2023 and views the MoU as a step toward its broader goal of becoming a leading infrastructure investor in the Western Balkans. The company aims to develop 1 GW of renewable energy capacity in the region.
