Saudi Arabia invites Bids for 500kV HVDC Transmission Projects

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) issued the tenders for two major High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Over head transmission line (OHTL) projects.
The Project is aim to connect the Eastern Operating Area (EOA) and Central Operating Area (COA).
HVDC EOA-COA Link 1:
The Project is aim to connect the Nariyah IPP in eastern region of Saudi Arabia withZulff BSP 9064 in Central region of Saudi Arabia. The approximate route length is 508km. The Project will designed to operate at + 500kV with a load capacity of 3000MW.
HVDC EOA-COA Link 2:
The Project is aim to connect the Qurayyah-4 BSP//Hajer-2 IPP in eastern region of Saudi Arabia with Khari Industrial City (KIC) BSP 9067 in Central region of Saudi Arabia. The approximate route length is 466km. The Project will designed to operate at + 500kV with a load capacity of 3000MW.
SEC recently awarded the HVDC interconnection projects between Southern Operating Area (SOA) and Central Operating Area (COA).
