Chinese Nuclear wins Damac Casa tower deal
13 January 2025
Chinese contractor China Nuclear Industry No. 22 Construction Company has won a construction contract from Dubai-based real estate developer Damac Properties to build its Damac Casa tower.
Damac Casa is a 43-storey residential building being built in the Al-Sufouh 2 area of Dubai.
Local architectural firm AE7 is the project consultant.
Another local firm, Al-Hai & Al-Mukaddam, completed the geotechnical work for the project.
Damac Properties is developing the project through its subsidiary Aqua Viridis Investment.
The development will offer an estimated 379 one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom residential units.
MEED reported in June last year that Damac Properties had started the piling works on the project.
Local firm Emirates German Foundations is carrying out the foundation works.
Damac launched the project in October 2022.
Damac and China Nuclear Industry No. 22 Construction Company have already worked together on the Nice cluster at the Damac Lagoons community in Dubai.
In November 2022, Damac awarded a AED273m ($74m) contract to the Chinese firm for the project’s main works.
Damac has developed a strong working relationship with Chinese contractors recently. In September last year, it awarded Beijing-headquartered China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) a contract for the construction of the Damac Bay project.
Damac Bay is a 22-storey three-tower residential development located in the Dubai Harbour area of Dubai.
CSCEC and Damac are working together on another project in the same area. In 2023, Damac awarded CSCEC an estimated AED955m ($260m) main construction contract for the Cavalli Casa Tower in Dubai Marina.
The Cavalli Casa Tower is a 71-floor premium residential skyscraper featuring 436 two- to six-bedroom apartments equipped with Roberto Cavalli-branded interiors and private pools or jacuzzis, along with parking spaces, a sky pool and garden, dining and leisure spaces, and an artificial beach.
