Serbia is negotiating a new agreement with Gazprom to increase its gas supply from Russia, according to Russian media reports. Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin confirmed that Serbia had requested a higher volume of gas, noting that deliveries from Russia had already increased this winter. He expressed confidence that a new deal would be secured soon.

In November, Serbian Minister of International Economic Cooperation Nenad Popovic stated that Serbia expects to sign a new gas agreement with Russia by spring 2025, aiming for terms similar to or better than the previous agreement. In 2022, Serbia signed a three-year deal with Gazprom for the annual delivery of 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas.

In October, Dusan Bajatovic, the Director of the state-owned gas company Srbijagas, announced that additional gas supplies from Gazprom had been secured for the winter, with expected deliveries reaching 400 million cubic meters. In 2023, Serbia received a total of 2.68 billion cubic meters of gas from Gazprom.
