Slovenia: Austrian Energie AG eyes 180 MW RES projects
13 May 2024
Austrian company Energie AG Oberosterreich has acquired a 29.4% stake in Slovenia-based wind and solar developer AAE Gamit as it plans to develop over 180 MW of projects in the country.
With this move, the company has joined existing shareholders WIG Wietersdorfer Holding GmbH, Alpen-Adria Energie GmbH, GAMIT Trgovina and Okoenergie Group.
The target portfolio consists of projects to be executed at eight locations in the Primorska region through a shared investment mechanism between the partners. Around 140 MW of the capacity will come from wind turbines, while 42 MW will be from solar panels.
Once commissioned, the 180-MW portfolio will generate around 360 GWh of electricity annually, or enough to supply over 100,000 homes. The first photovoltaic park is planned to be commissioned this year, while the first wind farm will be energized by 2026.
Energie’s investment supports its goal of producing 1 TWh of electricity from wind and solar annually by 2035.
