CHINT's Thai Base Hits Milestone with Silicon Wafer Project
25 April 2024In May of last year, CHINT Astronergy's Thailand base celebrated the rollout of its first solar cells and modules during the completion of Phase 2.5. This April 15th, the factory reached another milestone with its first successful silicon wafer slicing, marking the completion of its first silicon wafer project at the Thailand base.

With this achievement, the Thai facility now boasts a full solar manufacturing chain, from silicon wafer slicing to photovoltaic cells and modules. The wafer slicing project is planned for a 5GW capacity, utilizing advanced equipment and technology to significantly enhance the efficiency and quality of CHINT Astronergy's products, making them more competitive in the global market.
The successful expansion in Thailand demonstrates CHINT Astronergy's commitment to improving its overseas product supply capability, customer responsiveness, and supply chain efficiency. The swift ramp-up of production capacity at this base is expected to not only boost CHINT Astronergy's presence in the global solar industry but also stimulate local photovoltaic manufacturing, fostering job creation and contributing to the local economy.
