5 March 2024
The Podgorica-based companySolar Poweris the first and currently the only company in Montenegro that has met all the requirements set by the state for the construction of a solar power plant, resulting in the issuance of a building permit.
This company has recognized the potential of Montenegro in the production of electricity from renewable sources and will build the Čevo solar power plant with a total capacity of 150 MW in Cetinje.
For the realization of this investment, the state has issued urban-technical conditions to Solar Power, and they have also obtained approval for the Environmental Impact Assessment Study. Another significant aspect is the agreement for connection to the power transmission network, which has been signed with the Montenegrin Transmission System (CGES).
It is worth noting that the investor has completed the entire solar power plant project up to the approval point in just over a year and a half.
The Čevo solar power plant will be built on a total land area of 1.3 million m2.
The construction of the solar power plant will begin this year, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
