Nabors Awarded Rig Automation Contract in the Middle East

Nabors, USA announces that it has received a contract from a very large operator in the Middle East to deploy drilling automation technology and related services.
Initially Nabors will install its SmartROS® rig operating system on five working rigs.
The multi-round award process was competitive. The contract is significant as it marks the first rig automation project in this market.
The news follows several recent successful trials of SmartROS in the Middle East and proven performance for other customers on more than 157 drilling rigs worldwide. The automation platform delivers well construction efficiencies through repeatable and consistent outcomes and is available to all drilling contractors.
