Kuwait invite Bids of 1,100 MW Solar PV IPP Projects

The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (“KAPP”), in collaboration with the Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy of the State of Kuwait (“MEWRE”), is qualifying companies / consortia to participate in a tender for the development, financing, design, procurement, engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance and transfer of the Al Dibdibah Power and Al Shagaya Renewable Energy – Phase III – Zone 1 Solar PV IPP, a renewable power plant with a net capacity of 1,100 MW of power (the “Project”).
The Project lies within the administrative boundary of the Jahra Governorate in the west of Kuwait City, approximately 100 kilometers from the capital city.
The Project will export the output from the plant to Kuwait’s electricity grid and transmission network.
The Project will benefit from Power Purchase Agreement (the “PPA”) with MEWRE as the off taker for a 30-year term.
KAPP, and MEWRE are assisted by Ernst & Young as Lead & Financial Advisor, DLA Piper as Legal Advisor and DNV as Technical & Environmental Advisor.
The Applicant must upload all required RFQ elements onto the electronic portal as specified in the RFQ by noon (12) pm Kuwait time on 7 March 2024.
