3 January 2024The groundbreaking ceremony of Jenelata Dam Construction Project, undertaken by CAMCE, was held in Indonesia. Andi Muhammad Arsjad, Secretary General of South Sulawesi, Mohamad Risbiyantoro, Representative of the Ministry of Finance, Adenan Rasyid, Director of the Dam Center of the Ministry of Public Works, Suryadarma Hasyim, Director of the South Sulawesi Basin Institutional Management Office, representatives of the Indonesia Working Group of the Export-Import Bank of China and heads of the project joint venture member companies attended the ceremony. Yan Hailu, Deputy General Manager of CAMCE, attended the above ceremony and inspected the project site.
The Jenelata Dam Construction Project is located in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, with a contract amount of approximately 290 million US dollars. After completion, the reservoir will have a storage capacity of 285 million cubic meters and an irrigation area of 24400 hectares.
This project is a landmark livelihood project under the cooperation framework between the governments of China and Indonesia in recent years. After completion, it will effectively improve the local agricultural irrigation, increase the flood control capacity, promote agricultural development, and provide employment opportunities for local people.
