Swedish engineer Sweco has won a contract to help secure drinking water for the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk, population 220,000.
Missiles hit the city’s hydroelectric dam on the Dnipro River in October last year.
Sweco said it will provide expertise in urban water engineering, process engineering, hydrology, and environmental impact analysis.
Swedish development finance agency, Swedfund, will pay for the approximately $482,000 project.
Kremenchuk City Council wants to rebuild and modernise its water supply system quickly.
Sweco expects to finish the contract in August 2024.
In February this year, Sweco was appointed to help build housing in six cities in Western Ukraine.
