Tender issued for 25 MW Solar projects in Sri Lanka

Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) invites proposals from prospective developers for the development of ground-mounted/floating solar PV power plants of a total capacity of 25 MW, AC in Sri Lanka.
The projects will range in size from 1 MW to 5 MW and will be located close to three Sri Lankan substations with their own capacity limits: Matara (10 MW), Pallekele (7 MW), and Vavunathivu (8 MW).
Project Proponents are required to:
- Design, finance, procure, construct, commission, operate and maintain the solar PV power plant and all associated equipment/services;
- Procure or lease land required for the project; (It is compulsory to submit documents registered in the Land Registry as a proof with the proposal for consideration);
- Meet the entire cost of grid interconnection of the solar PV power plant, including power transmission line, transformers, protection and metering equipment;
- Secure all environmental clearances, Government approvals and statutory licenses;
- Enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with CEB for the supply of electricity (energy only) from the solar PV power plant. The commercial operation period of PPA will be 20 years beginning from the date of Commercial Operation
The deadline for proposal submission is set for November 8, 2023.
