Construction started for USD284 million Hospital PPP Project in Chile

The Ministry of Public Works of Chile has announced the progress in the construction process of a new hospital PPP project in La Cantera sector, Coquimbo, Chile.
The capacity of the medical facility with an area of 129,000 m2 is 605 beds, benefiting up to 723,000 people, and 22 surgical departments. It also includes the replacement of medical equipment and clinical and non-clinical furniture. The project having an investment of US$284 million will provide medical services to an estimated population of 700,000 inhabitants of the region, mainly from the communes of Coquimbo, Andacollo, Ilhapel, Salamanca, Canela and Los Vilos. The project also includes an increase in integrated delivery rooms, dialysis chairs, home hospitalization quotas, outpatient hospitalization quotas, telemedicine rooms and comprehensive care in the emergency department, the construction of a helipad, 820 parking spaces for cars and 1098 parking spaces for bicycles.
The new Coquimbo Hospital, which is projected to be completed in 2027, will be built by the concession company Hospital de Coquimbo SA, made up of the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC).
