Spanish contractor Ferrovial has won a €100m turnkey contract to build a solar farm with a 200MW capacity in Spain’s southwestern Badajoz region.
The scope includes engineering, construction and the commissioning of the plant, as well as its operation and maintenance during the first two years.
The project will contain 350,000 bifacial photovoltaic modules capable of producing 400GWh a year, enough to supply energy to 118,100 homes.
Work is due to take 14 months and will create an estimated 500 direct and indirect jobs.
