The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has requested an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the selection of an Independent Power producer (IPP) for energy augmentation at a selected government waterworks infrastructure in Pretoria, South Africa.

The chosen businesses/developers will be in charge of producing data that will help the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) evaluate various aspects of potential renewable energy projects at particular government waterworks infrastructure to choose renewable energy developers for the creation of potential types of renewable energy plants and the operation and maintenance of the same.

The objectives of EOI are as follows:

• Solar Power Generation – Floating/ Ground-mounted system;
• Wind Power Generation – land/however erected a system;
• Hydropower – Conduit hydropower system;
• Conservation of water loss due to less evaporation;
• Creation of employment to the communities in the vicinity of the dams/pump stations.

The submission deadline for EOI is 18 April 2023.
