EDPR to develop 123 MW Onshore wind project in Brazil

EDP Renovaveis SA (EDPR) is planning to build a 123 MW wind park in Brazil’s northeastern Paraiba state. The wind project, named Serra da Borborema, will require BRL1.4 billion (US$266.2 million) in investments and will feature 21 wind turbines installed in the municipalities of Pocinhos and Areial as well as a 30-km (18.6 mile) transmission line.
The project is currently in the licensing phase and its construction is expected to start in October 2023. Once commissioned, the facility will supply power to a town with 300,000 population.
Additionally, EDPR has a 66 MW solar farm installed in Sao Jose da Lagoa Tapada awaiting to signal to start operations.
