Vietnam coast road planned for Ben Tre Province
7 March 2023
Vietnam’s Ben Tre Province is to benefit from a new 53km coastal road, with an expected cost of US$546.3 million. The route will cross The Ham Luong River, Tien River and Co Chien River with construction commencing this year.
The first phase of the project will be to construct a route with a single lane in either direction and should be ready by 2025. However, the second phase will see the road being widened close to major towns so that it features two or more lanes in either direction at key congestion points.
The project will require the construction of 13 bridges. The project is being overseen by the Ben Tre Department of Transport. Funding is being provided jointly by Ben Tre Province and development programmes for Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region.
