SWPC announces Preferred and Reserved Bidders for Rabigh-4 IWP
27 February 2023Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) announced the Preferred and Reserved Bidders and their Levelized Water Cost for Rabigh-4 IWP.
Rabigh 4 IWP will be designed using Reverse Osmosis seawater desalination technology.
The desalination plant will be located in Rabigh , 180 km northwest of Makkah, on the coast of the Red Sea in the Western Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Project will be constructed with a 600,000 m3/day potable water capacity and will include the desalination plant and all associated infrastructure and facilities. In addition to that, the project scope includes developing 1,200,000 Cu.m Storage tanks as well as extension and connection to the existing Electricity transmission substation.
The developer scope of work includes, development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Project.
SWPC will purchase the output and entire capacity of the project, under a Water Purchase Agreement (WPA) for a period of 25 years.
SWPC’s obligations under the WPA will be supported by a credit support agreement from the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
SWPC is advised by KPMG Professional Services (Lead and Financial Adviser), Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP (Legal Adviser) and WSP (Technical Adviser).
Project Commercial Operation will be in Q4 2025.
