The company will help move 1,156 staff out of General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital to a new, $302m one (©GCR, illustration by Denis Carrier) SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a $62m contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers to move equipment and operations from a 40-year-old army hospital in Missouri to a brand new health campus in the state.

The company will help move 1,156 staff out of General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital to a new, $302m one.

Work includes full project management services, with medical and non-medical equipment planning, furniture and equipment purchasing, transition planning and relocation, installation, testing, training, warehousing and final turnover and close-out.

The new, 235,400 sq-ft hospital in Fort Leonard Wood includes a 193,300-sq-ft clinic, five-bay ambulance garage, helipad, and support facilities.

It will serve 5,700 active-duty military personnel, 20,400 trainees and their families.
