Three proposals offered for USD425 million Road Concession in Chile

The Ministry of Public Works in Chile has announced the opening ceremony of 3 economic proposals submitted for the second concession of Route 5 Chillán - Collipulli section in Chile.
China Railway Construction Corporation (International) Limited has submitted the most attractive proposal for the development and construction of the project with an investment of UF14,215,000 (approximately US$595.8 million) and a concession period of 30 years. The concession involves the improvement of the security and connectivity standard of 169 km of Route 5, which is located between the south of the city of Chillán Viejo and the north of the commune of Ercilla, in the Region of The Araucania.
Work under the second concession is taking place in the areas of Chillán Viejo, Bulnes, Pemuco, Cabrero, Los Ángeles, Mulchén, Collipulli and Ercilla, in the regions of Ñuble, Biobío and La Araucanía. The project involves the improvement works on the section of Second Concession Route 5 connecting Chillan to Collipulli in Chile. The contract for the project is planned to be completed in early 2023 with work to begin in 2026.
