Tender launched for Railway line PPP project in Malawi

The Government of Malawi, through the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MoTPW) has launched a request for Expression of Interest seeking transaction advisory services for the development of the North bound Railway PPP project in Malawi.
The project involves the development of railway line connecting central region of Malawi to northern region. The scope of the project also includes the development and connection of existing ports of Chilumba and Chipoka, existing road network and existing railway lines on the Malawi and Tanzania in order to offer best trade services.
The selected transaction advisor will be responsible for the following:
- assisting the MoTPW and the Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC) in the development and implementation of the project;
- feasibility analysis for MoTPW to establish the viability and affordability of constructing the railway line and operations of associated services;
- providing all the bidding administrative support necessary including advertising, bidder communication, drafting and other administrative support for the entire procurement process to the highest standards of efficiency, quality, and integrity.
The last date to submit the response is November 15, 2022.
