Poland seeks delivery partner for new international airport
27 July 2025
Polish megaproject Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) has launched a tender to select a general contract engineer – also known as a delivery partner – for the construction of its new international airport.
The winning outfit will act both as project management consultant and construction manager, and should have experience of greenfield airport projects and major projects in Poland.
The deadline for submissions is 20 October this year, and the contract is expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2026.
Details of the procurement procedure are available at the Smart PZP platform.
CPK said the winner’s job will be to ensure the airport opens on time, within scope, and on budget, while evaluating the quality of proposed solutions.
Bidders must also employ a team with direct experience in airport construction, and prove it has had a minimum net annual revenue of PLN 500 million ($137,792,500) over the past five years.
Scheduled to open in 2032, the Foster + Partners and Buro Happold-designed airport will anchor the broader CPK project, which aims to overhaul transportation in Poland with highway upgrades and 2,000km of high-speed rail.
The goal is to make all major Polish cities no more than 2.5 hours’ travel time away from the new airport, to be sited some 50km west of Warsaw.
