Consortium selected for US$408 million Desalination PPP project in UAE

Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that a consortium to provide consultancy services for the 120 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) in Hassyan desalination PPP plant, Dubai, UAE.
The consortium consists of companies like Deloitte, WSP and Addleshaw Goddard and will be responsible for advisory services that include tender document preparation, soliciting development and investment market interest, development of the financial model, IWP Developer tender submission management and evaluation, development of supplemental agreements, commercial negotiation, concluding a water purchase agreement, financial closure, preparing a project marketing plan, participating in marketing activities and roadshows.
The Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination project which is anticipated to be operational in phases in 2025 and 2026, will have a water reservoir to facilitate the production at the desalination plant and will be awarded separately on EPC procurement.
