Public Notice issued for the sale of USD650.9 million Metro Expansion Project in Brazil

                        The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has issued an auction notice for the sale of shares for the concession of the Belo Horizonte subway in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The metro expansion project involves the requalification and expansion of the 28.1 km existing line by one more station (Novo Eldorado in the municipality of Contagem), as well as the construction of Line 2, which will have seven new stations and will be 10.5 km long.
The winning bidder will be responsible for the management, operation and maintenance (MOM) of the network, including Line 1 (Novo Eldorado – Vilarinho line) and Line 2 (Nova Switzerland line – Barreiro) along with the subsidiary company Companhia Brasileira de Trens Urbanos (CBTU-MG). The BRL3.5 billion (US$650.91 million) project will benefit approximately 270,000 passengers daily.
The auction will take place at B3 in Sao Paulo on December 22, 2022.
