NADBank provides financing for a 208 MW solar PV farm in USA
24 August 2022
The North American Development Bank (NADBank) has signed a US$49.1 million loan for the Zier Solar and Energy Storage Project located in Kinney County, Texas, USA.
During the first year of operation, the 208 MW solar farm and 40 MW/ 80 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) are anticipated to generate around 414.31 GWh of power, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 30,286 households.
The BESS is anticipated to deliver up to 13.5 GWh of power annually while storing electricity produced by the solar farm and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid. As a result, it will decrease the dependability of fossil fuel plants and will aid in reducing the discharge of pollutants and greenhouse gases.
The project is anticipated to begin construction in the fall of 2022.
