French engineer Alstom has signed a €387m contract with Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation to supply 156 Movia trains and 15 years of maintenance for the Bhopal and Indore metros.

Alstom’s scope of work includes the installation of signalling, control and telecoms systems. It will also be responsible for supplying the rolling stock. There will be 27 three-car trains on the 31km Bhopal line, which will have 30 stations. At Indore, some 25 trains will stop at 29 stations on a 32km line.
