TATA Projects wins EPC contract for Noida airport in India

TATA Projects has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) for the Noida International Airport (NIA) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The firm’s scope of work includes building the terminal, runway, airside infrastructure, roads, utilities and landside facilities, as well as other ancillary buildings at the new airport.

The company outbid both the Shapoorji Pallonji Group and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to win the contract.

Featuring a modern and user-friendly design, the new airport aims to integrate Indian culture and hospitality with Swiss technology and efficiency.

The passenger terminal will be designed to support short and efficient passenger flows as well as minimise environmental impact by incorporating digital services.

Furthermore, the new airport will facilitate contactless travel and personalised services.

TATA Projects CEO and MD designate Vinayak Pai said: “We are proud to be entrusted the EPC works for the greenfield Noida International Airport at Jewar.

“TATA Projects will work closely with YIAPL to deliver India’s most advanced and environment-friendly airport on time. We shall deploy the latest technologies in its construction while meeting the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability.”

Last September, YIAPL received final approval for the masterplan of the NIA project, developed in partnership with aviation consultants Landrum & Brown and Zurich Airport International,

TATA Projects has won contracts for various other construction projects, including a new parliament building, Mumbai trans-harbour line and multiple stretches of dedicated freight corridors.

Its projects also include metro lines across Indian cities that include Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Chennai.
